Hitchcock forever

I watched - for the umptenth time but with the same pleasure as always - The Man Who Knew Too Much on TV yersterday evening. This is really great art. Nothing is left to chance here, which I think is somehow what a real work of art is or should be about. Not a picture, no one scene is unnecessary, the same way as not a word, no one brushstroke etc. is out of place in a good book, painting etc. Each picture, each scene makes sense both for itself and within the general context of the whole film.
